The Inner Library
Where storytelling becomes self-discovery
Welcome to the Inner Library
A new kind of storytelling experience
The Inner Library is a space where fiction becomes self-discovery.
It’s based on a simple idea: the stories we love can help us understand ourselves, uncover emotional insights, and spark meaningful conversations.
At the heart of it is the Inner Library Map - a clear, four-part guide to exploring your inner world through fiction, and seeing how the stories that stay with you reflect your emotions, beliefs, and growth.
Whether you’re a fiction reader, educator, therapist, or parent, The Inner Library offers a deeper way to connect your reading life to your inner life.
Not just reading for escape - reading for reflection and growth.

About the Inner Library Map
A framework for connecting your reading life to your inner life
The Inner Library Map is a simple, powerful guide to exploring your inner world through fiction.
It includes four core spaces:
Inner Library Archive – A catalogue of your inner world
Bookshelf of Becoming – The stories you tell yourself
Story Portal – The fiction that stirs your self-discovery
Reading Room – The calm, curious presence within
The Map helps you see how the stories you love - and the ones you tell yourself - reflect your emotions, patterns, and growth.

The Inner Framework
A compassionate foundation for creative, story-led work
The Inner Library is grounded in Internal Family Systems (IFS) - a compassionate, practical way of understanding our inner world.
IFS sees us as made up of many ‘parts,’ each with its own feelings, needs, and role in our lives. It also recognises that we all have a wise, grounded Self that can guide us with clarity and care.
This lens shapes everything we do in The Inner Library, helping you explore the characters and stories you connect with - and what they reveal about your own inner world.
Grounded, accessible and deeply human
Hello, I’m Jodie Benveniste
Author | Psychologist | Creator of The Inner Library
With a background in psychology, education, and emotional wellbeing, I believe stories can do more than entertain - they can guide us inward and help us heal.
I write heart-expanding young adult fiction filled with big feelings and emotional truth. And through The Inner Library, I help readers, educators, and parents explore their inner world through the stories they love.
When I’m not writing or reflecting on stories, I’m probably reading, sipping tea, enjoying dark chocolate, or walking in the national park near my home.
Turning the love of story into a journey of self‑discovery
