The Inner Library

Where storytelling becomes self-discovery

Welcome to the Inner Library

A new kind of storytelling experience

Everyone has an inner library—a place where memories, experiences, and the stories we connect with are stored.

The Inner Library uses fiction as a safe and creative way to access this inner world, reveal emotional insights, and spark meaningful conversations.

At its heart is The Inner Library Map—a simple, powerful guide to help you see yourself in the stories you love. Whether you’re a young adult fiction reader, an educator, therapist, or parent, The Inner Library offers ways to connect your reading life to your inner life.

Not just reading for escape - reading for reflection and growth.

About the Inner Library Map

A framework for connecting your reading life to your inner life

At the heart of The Inner Library is the Inner Library Map - a simple, powerful guide to exploring your inner world through fiction.

It’s made up of four interconnected spaces:

  • Inner Library Archive - A catalogue of your inner world

  • Bookshelf of Becoming - The stories you tell yourself

  • Story Portal – The fiction that stirs your self‑discovery

  • Reading Room – The calm, curious presence at the centre of it all

By using the Inner Library Map, you can see how the stories you love - and the ones you tell yourself - reflect your emotions, beliefs, and growth.

Spark insights and inspire growth

Hello, I’m Jodie Benveniste

Author | Psychologist | Creator of The Inner Library

My background in psychology, education, and emotional wellbeing has shaped my belief that stories can do more than entertain—they can guide us inward, help us make sense of ourselves, and open up space for healing.

As an author, I write heart-expanding young adult fiction filled with big feelings, deep connections, and emotional healing.

Through The Inner Library, I explore how storytelling can become a path to self-discovery—supporting readers, educators, and creatives to connect more deeply with the stories they love, and the inner worlds they reveal.

When I’m not writing or reflecting on stories, you’ll find me reading a great book, sipping tea, enjoying dark chocolate, or walking in the national park near my home.

Turning the love of story into a journey of self‑discovery
